Iron deficiency anaemia results cause numerous symptoms, such as:
- Shortness of breath.
- Loss of energy.
- Pale and unhealthy looking skin.
- A burning sensation on the tongue.
In more severe cases:
- Angina (chest pain).
- Mouth dryness.
- Brittle fingernails.
- Mouth sores in corners.
During the initial stages it can be quite difficult to identify and diagnose anaemia, as the symptoms can be quite vague and non – specific.
